From time to time, as a licensed contractor, it just pays to have a second opinion of not only the format of the Plan of Works but, also of the content. When writing a Plan of Works it is all too easy to get lost, have a 'Wordsworth' moment and write them for clients and inspectors rather than the people doing the job, yes, it is true, all parties need to be able to understand the document and there are some we like to impress but, the document is primarily for the use of the operations crew to enable them to carry out the works you have planned swiftly and more importantly 'safely', utilising the controls and methodology contained.
"Does it do what is says on the tin? and act as a 'Plan' for the 'Works' to be undertaken?
Can someone independent from your organisation see from your document what you wish to be achieved and how you plan on the site operational team realising that end goal?
We can review your Plans of Works for you, analysing them against and ensuring their compliance with statatory provisions, regulations, guidance and Asbestos Licensing Group Memorandums:
- Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
- L143 Second Eddition (Managing and working with asbestos, Approved Code of Practice and guidance to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012)
- HSG 247 - Licensed Contractors Guide
- ALG Memorandums 01.08 (now superseded) and 04.12
Upon completion of the review of your Plan of Works we will issue a full written report highlighting where, in our opinion, we feel improvement could be made and siting the relevant Health and Safety Executive document applicable to that particular item. |
